What is expected of a UA Soccer Club league player?

Players make a full semester/season commitment to the UA Soccer Club. Players are expected to attend one weekly team practice, have a positive attitude, be attentive, and work hard. The UA Soccer Club program requires a high level of commitment from players. Participation in other University sports or activities is encouraged. However, participation in other sports that require multiple activities per week could jeopardize the player's ability to develop or maintain skill sets that will help his or her team.

In the event of “evenly skilled” players

Should the event arise where one player is needed to complete the roster and there are two players of a similar skill set, the player with the most demonstrated commitment and experience with the club will be selected. Or, in the case that two players of a similar skill set remain to be selected, the player who is needed at a particular position may be selected.

Selection of Alternates

After the initial selection, a mandatory team meeting to collect fees and fill out paperwork is required the first weekend after selection. If one player is unable to attend, the top alternate will be asked to take his or her spot. If the first alternate can’t go, the second alternate will be invited and so on.
