Ph.D. Fellowships

If you are interested in the research topics mentioned in this website and qualify for any of these fellowships, please email me. Students cannot apply for these fellowships themselves; a student's major professor applies for him or her.

Distinguished Doctoral Fellowship (DDF):

  • Pays $20,000 on top of usual graduate assistantship (approximately $38,000 total + tuition)
  • Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must have GPA of at least 3.85/4.0 on previous degree
  • If you already have an M.S. degree, then you must also have at least a 3.65/4.0 on your B.S. degree
  • Must have GRE V+Q score of at least 1300
  • Must have GRE writing score of at least 5.0
  • Application deadline: February 1, for Fall semester admission
Doctoral Academy Fellowship (DAF):
  • Pays $10,000 on top of usual graduate assistantship (approximately $28,000 total + tuition)
  • No citizenship requirement
  • Must have GPA of at least 3.65/4.0 on previous degree
  • If you already have an M.S. degree, then you must also have at least a 3.5/4.0 on your B.S. degree
  • Must have GRE V+Q score of at least 1200
  • Must have GRE writing score of at least 4.5
  • No application deadline
Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN):
  • $30,000 Stipend + tuition, books, and conference travel
  • Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must have GPA of at least 3.5/4.0 on previous degree
  • One grant to be awarded starting Summer or Fall 2010 in the area of CAD Tool Development for Asynchronous Circuits
William E. Clark Fellowship:
  • Pays $5,000 extra (for first year only) on top of usual graduate assistantship (i.e., $18,000 + $5,000 + tuition)
  • No citizenship requirement
  • Must have GPA of at least 3.75/4.0 on previous degree
  • Must have GRE Quantitative score of 800
  • Must have GRE writing score of at least 3.5
  • Application deadline: March 15
