The R/V Ozark Traveler is a 24 ft. pontoon boat built by Tracker in 1984. She was obtained by the University of Arkansas in July 1997 for use as a research and teaching vessel investigating geological, chemical and biological processes in Arkansas lakes and rivers.
The first active research project of the R/V Ozark Traveler is an investigation of sedimentation patterns and development of a sediment budget for the Prairie Creek arm of Beaver Lake in northwest Arkansas. This research is the basis of a Master's thesis in Geology by Mr. Jay Hansen under the direction of Dr. Stephen K. Boss.
