EXPECTATIONS

Each semester begins with much anticipation, eagerness, and anxiety. There is the promise of renewed academic vigor and the expectations of good things to come. Especially, we all have expectations and I have compiled a list of those things that I think students are entitled to expect from me as a professor. In turn, I have listed those things that I think I am entitled to expect from you as a student. I hope you will take some time to read through both lists. Perhaps we are not so different.

Students of the University of Arkansas, you have the right to expect (indeed, demand) the following things from me as a professor. Students of the University of Arkansas, I have the right to expect (indeed, demand) the following things from you as a student.
I will arrive to class on time. You will arrive to class on time.
I will be prepared for class. You will be prepared for class.
I will treat you with the respect you deserve as an individual. You will treat me with the respect I deserve as an individual.
I will keep you informed of course-related events. You will keep me informed of course-related events.
I will be fair & objective in all my dealings with you. You will be fair & objective in all your dealings with me.
I will do my best during each class session throughout the semeseter. You will do your best during each class session throughout the semeseter.
