FINAL EXAM - Fall 2004

"You are a fluke of the Universe; you have no right to be here, and whether you can hear it or not, the Universe is laughing behind your back."

THE QUESTION

  1. After many years in obscurity, the seminal document by Mata et al. defining the demotechnic index as a measure of per capita consumption has become the focus of debate in the United Nations as it attempts to draft an equitable global policy of sustainability for human kind. Consider that you have been hired as a consultant to the nations of the developed world to outline their perspective on how the demotechnic index should be used to implement this policy. Prepare this 4-page "position paper" (or white paper), doing your best to represent your clients and their best interests.
