Renee is a woman - PHENOMENALLY.
We joined a church, and there she was. She WAS incredible in her work, as the youth leader for First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, AR. She has a unique way of working with kids that validates who they are and who they want to become. Children of all ages seem to buzz around her, never wanting to leave....she is the honey to their little bee-selves.
She moved here from Little Rock, AR, to be director of Youth and Children's Ministries, FUPC. That job ended in April, 2002. She is groovy, joyful, beautiful and amazing, and I personally feel very lucky to have met her. (It isn't often you meet such a colorful, happy person in a Presbyterian church - 'frozen chosen,' you know....)
Unlike most people who enter the ministry, Renee was 'called' when she was on stage - as an opera singer. (And I have pictures to proove her Diva past life). Renee sings all the time - opera, blues, EVERYTHING. Her voice is beyond description and would fall flat on this web page if I were to even try, but I do know that hers is the only opera voice that's never hurt my ears with those awful high notes or made me want to scream, 'Shut up.'
Sometimes, I even ASK her to sing opera - and I HATE opera.
She's very special to me - this opera singer extraordinaire.
