ChapterWho We Are
|
Our chapter's roots began in 1983. That year, approximately one dozen men from Yocum Hall formed an intramural rugby team. In the true spirit of the game, the men began to socialize and act as a single cohesive unit. As a result, the men formed a local fraternity, Chi Gamma Phi. In 1984, Chi Gamma Phi petitioned the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity for recognition, and was given colony status. In October of 1985, the colony received its charter, and the Delta Phi chapter was born. That fall, several of the members moved in together at 1032 Eagle Street. The Eagle Street house became the first chapter house. In later years, the chapter would move to 358 Arkansas Avenue, and then to 360 Arkansas Avenue. In 1994, the chapter moved to 10 North Garland. In 1996, the chapter felt that it had lost some of its history, so it elected to return to its original house on Eagle Street. |
