A project dear to my heart...

I worked with others for more than a year to try to convince Butterfield Trail Village, a life-care facility here in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to reconsider their "no pets" policy. We gathered information, prepared presentations, come up with possible pet rules, etc., that Butterfield Trail Village could use.

We wanted to give a presentation to the board of Butterfield Trail Village. We were refused. We were invited by some of the residents to give a presentation to the residents. The administration of Butterfield Trail Village refused to permit such a presentation.

We have good information. I, for one, have done a lot of work on this, and I'm not about to just throw it all away. So here it is online for anyone to see: Butterfield Trail Village, Fayetteville, Arkansas, should reconsider its no-pets policy.

Family Portraits

(except for the family member who is cagey enough to be on the other side of the camera)

Picture of two dogs and one human

Above: The very latest (September 2004) family portrait: Sassy (a part-hound, who knows what?), Covey (the human), and Ralfie (the Lab). Below: the 2003 family portrait: Trina (Border Collie mix, three legs), Covey, and Ralf.

Picture of two dogs and one human

Below: An earlier (as of about 2000) family portrait: Trina, Covey (human in back), Abby (Lab in front), and Bear (part Lab). Note that we had no mailbox (there) back then, though we did have a number post.

Picture of same human, three dogs

There is more information on all the dogs.

By the way, I set up and for years maintained a website for the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. Much of that site has been incorporated into the city's website.

As for the human . . .

Picture of Covey roasting chiles

. . . here's Richard Covey, my husband, roasting green chiles and other veg. Scrumptious stuff.

Picture of old cars and old car dudes

Covey likes old cars. Here he is trading a nearly-restored Model T pickup (already on the trailer) for a rusty old Model A Coupe. Also shown are his car mentor Bill and Bill's son.

Picture of Ozark Trail marker

My idea of fun and games on vacation is to follow the Ozark Trail (the Ozark Trail Association was the topic of my master's thesis).

If you want to see what else I have been/am involved in (aside from the old Animal Shelter website, also linked above), see parts of the University of Arkansas Libraries, Special Collections, home page, which I did quite a lot of work on (including translating "The Fulbright Program, 1946-1996" from a gallery exhibit to an online exhibit). I also set up and have maintained the website of the Friends of the Fayetteville Public Library and have done work on the Big As TEXAS website for my sister.

Picture of the library, south side

Here's a picture of the university library. Actually it was taken during construction, but I removed a crane. Also removed a lamppost that seemed to be in the way. Also vignetted the thing. Aren't computers wonderful?
