Hello! I am a reference librarian and library instruction coordinator at Mullins Library, at the University of Arkansas. My research interests include cognition and motivation, especially the motivation to learn how to do research.

I got my bachelor's degree in plant pathology from the University of Arkansas, and my M.L.I.S from Louisiana State University. I have published or presented locally, regionally and on the national level.

I am a published poet, and am writing children's stories on the side. (I gave up on the novel, for now, if you've been here, before....).  The "non-professional reading" I have done lately has been in the areas of creativity and spirituality, such as Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way  and The Vein of Gold.   I like to knit, to sew and to read, not necessarily in that order. I am also fond of horseback riding, although it's been a while.

I come from a musical family; I play the recorder and flute, and I love to sing. My husband is a musician and music teacher.
I have two wonderful children and one dog. (I  love cats, too, but my husband and son are both allergic to them). I am of

The families came to the United States early (1630's, the Bassetts) and late (1919, the Tomboulians) and various dates in between. My Armenian grandfather said that I am the "most Armenian" of the grandchildren, by which I think he means loving, poetic and stubborn.
...Though much is taken, much abides; and though We are not now that strength which in old days Moved heaven and earth; that which we are, we are, One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will, To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield.
"Ulysses", by Alfred, Lord Tennyson (Norton Anthology, 1996, p.896)

In memory of all peoples killed by "holocaust", especially the Armenians, who are so often forgotten.
