I was hired as the First faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. The overall goal was to significantly increase the offerings of Biomedical Engineering research and education opportunities at the University of Arkansas. There were challenges from several aspects associated with the establishing a new program. I have established a nationally recognized research program in Computational and Experimental Research on Nitric Oxide, Free Radicals and Oxidative and Nitrosative Stress.
