WOVO News update, April 2005

The outgoing Chairman and Secretary of WOVO are delighted to welcome 3 colleagues who will share the new leadership duties of WOVO.  The new leaders are:

·        Dr. Warner Marzocchi, INGV-Bologna, Italy.  Warner worked previously at the Osservatorio Vesuviano and has been a strong supporter of the WOVOdat project.  He will represent WOVO observatories in Europe and Africa.

·        Dr. Glen Mattioli, Univ. of Arkansas, USA.  Glen has collaborated over the years with the Seismic Research Unit and the Montserrat Volcano Observatory.  He will represent WOVO observatories in the Americas and Caribbean.

·        Mr. (soon to be Dr) Andrew Tupper, Bureau of Meteorology, Australia.  Andrew works at the Darwin Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) and has done a great job coordinating with (other) volcano observatories of the Western Pacific.   He’ll represent the Asia/Pacific/Oceania region and the VAACs.

Please join us in welcoming Warner, Glen, and Andrew!
