1. Try the Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How method
Write the word "who" and then list as many people as you can
think about, then go onto the word "what" and make a
list. Keep going with "where", "when", "why", and "how."
2. Try working on your A,B,C's
Write out the letter "A" and then list as many words that
come to mind. Now go to the letter "B."
3. Take inventory of your interests
Complete each of these questions
What is my "soap box" of things I argue for and about?
What do I collect?
What are some unusual things that I know or have interest in?
When my friends need advice about ___ they usually come to me.
What do I know about that people find interesting?
What do I wish I knew more about?
What topic do I find myself getting "all fired up about?"
4. Look Around Your World
Everything can lead to an idea
Turn on the TV, flip through the channels, what do you see?
Open the newspaper, what catches your eyes?
Walk around the mall, what trends do you notice?
Call a friend, what do you talk about?
Walk around campus, what events are taking place?"
Look on your bookshelf, what books have you read lately?
5. Brainstorm By Categories
Think of at least three things in each category
that might be interesting to talk about.

Pets
Sports
Outdoor activities
Health
