Text Box: Dunamis.  It means a speaker is so on fire that they seem to explode with enthusiasm.  The fire catches on to the audience.
Aristotle referred to it as the speech having power.
In order to have dunamis,  you must find a topic that you are passionate about.  If you are passionate about is, others will be as well.
Dunamis--it is where we get our word dynamite.

Need Helping Coming Up with an Idea? Try one of these

1.  Try the Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How method

Write the word "who" and then list as many people as you can think about, then go onto the word "what" and make a list.  Keep going with "where", "when", "why", and "how."

2.  Try working on your A,B,C's

Write out the letter "A" and then list as many words that come to mind. Now go to the letter "B."

3. Take inventory of your interests

Complete each of these questions

What is my "soap box" of things I argue for and about?
What do I collect?
What are some unusual things that I know or have interest in?
When my friends need advice about ___ they usually come to me.
What do I know about that people find interesting?
What do I wish I knew more about?
What topic do I find myself getting "all fired up about?"

4.  Look Around Your World

Everything can lead to an idea

Turn on the TV, flip through the channels, what do you see?
Open the newspaper, what catches your eyes?
Walk around the mall, what trends do you notice?
Call a friend, what do you talk about?
Walk around campus, what events are taking place?"
Look on your bookshelf, what books have you read lately?

5.  Brainstorm By Categories

Think of at least three things in each category that might be interesting to talk about.

Entertainment
Education trends
Environmental
Pets
Sports
Outdoor activities
Health
