STUDY TIPS

1. Attend class!!!

2. Take notes—don’t just copy the overheads add notes based on verbal explanations.

3. Review your notes before and after each class—this helps with continuity.

4. Read text before and after lectures—use the notes as a guide to the “important” material in the text. Pay close attention to pictures, graphs, and tables.

5. Annotate your notes with material from the text.

6. Study well in advance of test—about a week in advance.

7. Test yourself—questions from book, text web site, from old tests, and/or from fellow students.

8. Learn how to apply information—don’t just learn definitions.

9. Relax the night before because if you have done all of the above, you are well prepared. A quick review is all that is needed.

10. Think positive and enjoy.
