Quantitative Tissue Diagnostics

We are a multi-disciplinary research group at the University of Arkansas focused on developing quantitative biomarkers for non-invasive, real-time assessments of tissue structure and function to diagnose disease or trauma and guide therapies.

Our research efforts are primarily focused on understanding the underlying mechanisms of abnormalities in the wound healing process through integrative optical and mechanical analysis, with the end goal of developing non-invasive diagnostic readouts. To investigate the different dynamic processes involved in repair and regeneration, we utilize label-free multi-photon microscopy to non-invasively obtain three-dimensional live tissue images at the microscale without the need for fixation, mechanical sectioning, or staining.

Since its inception, the Quinn Lab has been externally funded by generous support from the National Institutes of Health, Arkansas Biosciences Institute, and the Department of Defense.
