Abstract:
Butterfield Trail Village (BTV) is the organization targeted for my project. It is a retirement community that provides full term care. There are 300+ residents and 80+ staff. BTV is constructing an additional building to help accommodate expanding needs. It has been decided that they would like to create a new ‘Town Hall’ room for large group meetings, performances, and other occasions requiring seating for 100+ residents. Also in the plans is a conference room that will allow the various committees to communicate with others off-property via telepresence.
The technology plan devised by the planning group addresses the lack of current technology to perform the functions required. In the surveys and meetings state-of-the-art was an often mentioned phrase. However, the needs analysis showed that the cost of their desires would be beyond what is required to meet the needs. An agreement was made to spec out two separate lists for each room. One list would be state-of-the-art and the other would be based on the needs assessment. The decision has yet to be made as to which list will be followed. The budgetary committee for the technology portion of the building project has not set a meeting date yet.
