the view from anywhere
In this case, the view was from my drive, which practically qualifies
as being nowhere, since I'm buried in a valley with hills on three sides.
But of course, no one owns the sky and the view of it is free, so one
needn't live on top of a hill to be a spectator to stunning panoramas.
As every nature photographer knows, the low light that we usually shoot in
and the need to have everything in focus front to back usually dictate
long exposures and shooting from a tripod. This is one of the few images
on these pages that was hand-held, mainly because little depth of field
was required, but also due partly to the fact that there isn't much on
a cloud that is sharp anyway.
