emergences
For some reason this image of Lake Wedington on a foggy summer morning in
1998 brings to my mind the Kraken emerging from
below the thunders of the upper deep
on the last day and finding, what? Another titan emerging to do
battle? I'm afraid I'm mixing mythologies, but no more than Tennyson
did himself:
|
There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge sea worms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.
