The sky on this fall day in 1996 was strikingly blue, which can be discerned in the reflections in this photo's lower left corner, and which lends a strong blue tint to the boulders as well. To many photographers the blue cast would be a fatal weakness, but I kind of like the effect in this photo, since it plays off the warm gold and red reflections of fall foliage.
