rock water tree
The hike had been fun but without much photographic luck on this spring
day in 1997, and after a lunchtime siesta Darby and I were working our way back along
Dry Creek towards the trail when we found a sheltered area under a bluff
where light and water were doing something special.
When we had passed through the same spot that morning the light was of
course from the wrong direction, and the place didn't seem remarkable,
even though some of the rock formations were interesting, but the
afternoon light bouncing off the trees on the far side just lit up the
creek with wonderful greens and blues.
