From the Editor
As we gear up for another FSAE season, SAE welcomes back our
students, faculty advisors, sponsors, and interested parties. Now that midterms are over,
its time to begin working on your FSAE project. Good luck and we are looking
forward to another terrific FSAE season, and we hope that all of you are, too.
1999 FSAE Dates
The 19th annual Formula SAE® Competition is tentatively
scheduled for May 19-23, 1999. We are happy to announce that the competition will remain
at the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan. Registration will be open from 2 - 6 p.m. on
Wednesday, May 19. Late registration will open Thursday morning at 6:30 a.m. We suggest
that teams register on Wednesday. Thursday morning can be hectic and you dont want
to miss an event due to not being registered.
The design event is scheduled for Thursday, May 20 (as are the
cost and presentation events). Teams will receive their randomly assigned time slots when
they register on-site. Design semi-finals will take place Thursday evening at
approximately 6:30 p.m., and design finals are scheduled Sunday morning prior to the
banquet. There will be a seminar immediately following the finals with Carroll Smith as
the featured speaker.
All schedule changes will appear in future newsletters.
