The International Culture Team (ICT) is a very special team
of international student educators. Typically comprised
of around 50 graduate and undergraduate students representing
over 30 countries, this team offers global education to
schools at all grade levels, as well as businesses and community
organizations throughout Northwest Arkansas. During the
2001-2002 academic year, ICT members provided cultural lectures
and performances for over 7,000 children and adults.
International students who have good English speaking skills
are encouraged to join ICT. It is an excellent means of
improving public speaking and communication skills in preparation
for professional careers. It is also a wonderful way to
learn about and interact with persons in the U.S. public
school system and local business community, while providing
a valuable service for the state. And finally, it is a great
way for international students to meet and work with other
international students as members of a highly effective
and visible team.
Partial support for kids, college students, and the web
has been provided by the United States Department of State, through
a grant from the Cooperative Grants Program of NAFSA: Association
of International Educators.
