| My favorite holiday is Christmas. In Colombia
we all get together with our families (cousins,
aunts, uncles, etc.) and pray around "el
pesebre" (the nativity) and sing Christmas
carols. After we pray we dance and eat, and then
open the Christmas gifts. Children receive gifts
as did baby Jesus. Some even believe the gifts
come from Jesus. It is really nice. Tons of love
all the way around!!! |

Hola!!! Bienvenidos a Colombia!!!!
My name is Natalia.
I was born in Bogota, the capital city of
Colombia. The weather in Colombia is tropical
because we are close to the Ecuadorian line.
We do not have seasons, but we have all the
weathers from snow at the peak of the mountains
until beautiful beaches in both the Pacific
and Atlantic oceans. The official language
of Colombia is Spanish, but there are also
more than 200 native languages. Colombia produces
the best coffee of the world and also has
the biggest variety of orchids in the world.
Our industries include emeralds, petroleum,
natural gas, oil and coal.

"I love to dance. Definitively
dancing is one of my passions. I can dance anywhere,
any kinds of music. I also like to write and to
watch movies. And of course, I love sports. My favorite
sports are soccer and bicycling."

My favorite dish?
This is a hard decision because I love food!!!
One of my favorites dishes is el ajiaco. Ajiaco
is a soup made of three different kinds of
potatoes, chicken, corn, avocado, milk cream,
and a special herb called guasca. It is delicious!!!!

we have many handcrafts. This one is called

in the little towns.
