My favorite dish is Ajiaco. Ajiaco is the typical dish of Bogotá, and is a sopu based on potatoes (3 types), corn and chicken. The secret of the Ajiaco is a leave called guasca, which is the one that gives the flavor. This dish is served with whipping cream and capers on top of the soup, and with white rice and avocado as side dishes.

My name is Lyda and I from Colombia. Colombia is located in the north corner of South America, and we have coast in both oceans. Colombia is a country of a grand diversity, and we have all kind of climates and landscapes, from beaches to Snow Mountains, from flat lands to really high peaks (the Andes).

I was born in Bogotá, the capital, which is located in the center of the country in the Andean region. Bogotá is a very cosmopolitan city, with a great variety of museums, tourist attractions and spectacles. Bogotá is the city that it’s 2600 meters closer to the stars

The official language of Colombia is Spanish and around 90% of the population is catholic. As we are above the equator, Colombia doesn’t have seasons, and the weather is really nice, even during the wet or dry season. Our major industries are coffee, oil, textiles, flowers, agricultural products and chemicals.

Colombia has a big diversity of crafts. I love the “chivas” (buses) and “balcones” (balconies), which are a representation of the country side. We also have a lot of art on wood, leather and textiles. Everything is colorful and gorgeous!!!
