Principles. Basic course in biological sciences. Focus on major ideas of biology. Corequisite course, BIOL 1541L, Principles of Biology Lab.

Honors Principles. Basic course in biological sciences for honors students. Focus on major ideas in biology with emphasis on synthesis of ideas. A good background in science and excellent writing ability are strongly recommended. Corequisite course, BIOL 1541M, Honors Principles of Biology Lab.

BOTY 4424, Mycology
Fall of even numbered years. Carries both undergraduate and graduate credit. Course covering the biology of Fungi and fungus-like eukaryotes. Corequisite course BOTY 4420L, Mycology Lab. Prerequisite BIOL 1543/1541L and/or BOTY 1613/1611L. Survey of the Plant Kingdom, Cell Biology, and Genetics are also highly recommended.
