Goals
and Objectives
The goals and
objectives of the University of Arkansas Subunit of the American Fisheries Society
are to:
- Promote the
appropriate management, conservation and use of the fishery and aquatic resources
of Arkansas.
- Facilitate
the exchange and dissemination of information among fisheries and aquatic
professionals throughout all fields within the discipline (i.e. management,
culture, research academia, administrative) in the state of Arkansas.
- Increase the
public's awareness of Arkansas' aquatic and fisheries resources and expand
their participation in fisheries related projects and issues including habitat
maintenance and improvement work, protection of sensitive areas/resources,
and the promotion of appropriate management of all of Arkansas' aquatic resources.
- Assist in
the implementation and attainment of AFS parent society goals and objectives.
- Provide sound
and scientific information to the city of Fayetteville to facilitate preservation
and conservation of local aquatic ecosystems.
