The lecture was preceded by a demonstration of the striking of coins in the ancient world. The Gallery Mint, from Eureka Springs, Arkansas, drew attention with its expert (modified) representation of coin-making and gave away free samples of ancient coins made of pewter. The lecture, conducted by Dr. Eric Kondratieff of Temple University was fascinating and was replete with stunning examples of ancient coins and coin-making diagrams. After the lecture, another demonstration was offered at Ella's, where refreshments were served, and the public was able to speak with our guests [Photos] 2005 October: Mid-Semester Initiation 6 new members were initiated at the home of Jasmine Merced-Ownbey.
