• Lightscreen Portable (Windows)
  portable screenshot tool (carry on jumpdrive or other portable medium) you can use wherever you are, very basic but gets the job done
• Screen Capture for MAC Users
  Learn to use MAC's built-in scren capture tool .If you need more features, check out other options at eskimo.com .
• Screen Hunter (Win XP, Vista)
  The free version includes all the basic features you need for simple screen captures.

  This free online screen recorder requires no installation. Record your screen with audio and annotations, download file (avi), stream online, or embed in blogs and webpages.

  Create tutorials with this free screen capture tool, includes audio, callouts, export to pdf, html, swf, and exe.

• Audacity
  Audio recorder and editor to help you create audio files and podcasts (also available in portable version that you can store on and run from your jumpdrive)
• AVI Trimmer
  This free version of the popular AVI software edits AVI files (Windows, MAC) and allows you to edit movies for YouTube, make cuts, and remove audio streams.
• Storyboard Pro
  Create storyboards with shot titles, types and descriptions for your videos projects.
• Subtitle Workshop from URUSOFT
  Create and synchronize subtitles and captions for video with this free application. It can will export in a format compatible with YouTube's new captioning feature.

• Ecto
  Ecto is a hosted, open networked Personal Learning Environment. This learning management system is built on the principles and architecture of social software. Students, as well as instructors, can add content. While the basics are free, Ecto has recently added a paid feature, in collaboration with AT&T — live conferencing with AT&T Connect—enabling integrated voice, web and video conferencing from the community and group dashboards.

  Teach private or public classes with many features (lessons, quizzes, rubrics, multimedia, attendance, groups, chats, widgets, etc.). New resources are added often by the edu 2.0 community.
• nfoMedia
  This course management system and social networking application is available to instructors in higher education (check availability). Features include blogs, video lectures, exams, journals, gradebook, message board, chat, and text messaging
• NineHub (Moodle)
  Free Moodle host with unlimited bandwidth. This is the place to go if you've been curious about Moodle. You can get up and running in no time for no cost!

• Bubbl.us
  Web-based mind mapping tool allows you to create, share, embed, and save as images. This one is not as rich in features as Mindomo but it's a great and popular tool that is simple to use.
• Freemind (Win, MAC, Linux)
  Free mind-mapping written in Java, not quite as pretty as the others listed here, but very easy to use.

  While primarily a paid service, this popular training site offers the first several chapters of each topic for free, enough to get you started with any application
• Microsoft Training
  Microsoft's free tutorials for Office products (2003 and 2007), with graphics and audio
• Tutorialized
  Find free tutorials on just about any software imagineable. Users can comment, rate, and submit their own tutorials.

  Innovate focuses on the creative use of information technology to enhance education and training in academic, commercial, and governmental settings. Webcasts are free and archived.
• EASI's Online Conferences
  

  EASI is a provider of online training on accessible information technology for persons with disabilities. In addition to paid webinars and an online certificate program, this group offers many good FREE webinars focuses on accessibility issues.

  Anti-spyware utility with customizable scans to keep your computer free of malicious code
• AVG Anti-Virus Free
  Free version of anti-virus software, includes realtime protection of files and emails, plus regular updates
• Back2zip
  Simple file backup utility that works in background to protect your files
• CC Cleaner
  Remove unused files and clean your registry for system optimization, also removes cleans traces of online activities.
• Eusing Free Registry Cleaner
  Scan and clean your PC's registry to improve performance and stability, includes automatic backup
• Spybot Search and Destroy
  Another popular free anti-spyware tool (I use the combination of Adaware and Spybot to detect spyware)
