1963, A day out in
Dunkirk

We
wanted to go abroad. Mum and Dad fixed
up us with a day in Dunkirk. They had
to try twice to get acceptable passport photos, I think I took the half-length
photos that were not acceptable and they went to a shop in Maidstone to get the
final pictures. I can remember very
little about the trip, except that we went overnight on the ferry and spent
most of the day sleeping on the beach.
We did visit the beach from which the British army was rescued in 1941.
