STAR SONGS was realized using a Kurzweil K2000 instrument and Digital Performer running on a Macintosh Computer together with the Mark of the Unicorn 2408 and midi timepiece AV units. All recording and digital processing was done in the 24-bit sample format and quantized to 16 bits using the Waves Ultramaximizer software. Algorithmic techniques were used to compose certain sections of the music using the Common Music application. Musical material was generated in Common Music running under Macintosh Common Lisp, saved as general MIDI files, and imported into the Digital Performer sequencer application.
