About Our Name

The name Rudugast's Ideal is actually inspired by the Tolkein character of Radagast the Brown. The idea of Radagast was of one who becomes enthralled with the birds and beasts of the land. We decided to go back to the root of Radagast which is the Olde English "Rudugast" meaning brown earth spirit. Therefore the ideal of Rudugast would be a place with a lot of diversity. This ideal would mimic the diversity found on a homestead in the middle of the last century.
