Dr. Fred Barlow - Faculty Advisor
Contact: fbarlow@uark.edu

Fred Barlow earned a Bachelors of Science in Physics and Applied Physics from Emory University in 1990, a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1994, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1999. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at University of Arkansas. Dr. Barlow has published widely on electronic packaging and electronic materials evaluation and is Co-Editor of The Handbook of Thin Film Technology (McGraw Hill, 1998). In addition, he has written several book chapters including two chapters on thin films and one on components and devices. He has achieved the Outstanding Contribution Award with IMAPS society in recognition of his efforts in developing and implementing the CD-ROM project for IMAPS publications, IMAPS home page on the Internet, and for his technical contributions. He currently serves on the IMAPS national technical committee for power packaging. His research interests include electronic packaging for power electronic and microwave applications as well as RF and microwave design.

Ryan Pooran - President
Contact: rpooran@uark.edu

Ryan Pooran earned his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Physics in May 2000 from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. He also holds a Masters of Science degree in Microelectronics-Photonics from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, which he earned in December 2002. Mr. Pooran is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics-Photonics and is expected to complete it in August 2005. Mr. Pooran's current research involves the development of a microfluidic system actuated by flagellar motors in E.coli bacteria. Past research includes the design, fabrication, and testing of MEMS fabricated Fabry-Perot optical pressure sensors. Mr. Pooran is also a member of IEEE, IMAPS, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

Chris Thomason - Vice President

Colin Furrow - Treasurer
Contact: cfurrow@uark.edu

Colin Furrow earned a Bachelor's of Science in Physics in May 2004 from the University of Southern Mississippi at Hattiesburg. He is currently pursuing his Master's of Science in Microelectronics-Photonics in the area of photorefractive solitons for use in optical switching, optical communications, and optical computing. He is the treasurer of CPMT and a member of IEEE.

Matt Kelley - Secretary
Contact: mwkelle@uark.edu

Matt Kelley earned a Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering in December 2000 from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. While working on his Master's degree, Kelley attended the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Tokyo, Japan for a year, researching silicon nano-wires. He received his Master's of Science in Microelectronics-Photonics in December 2004 for the modeling of a wafer-level chip-scale package for RF-MEMS devices. Kelley is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the area of thermal management for stacked ICs. He is the secretary of both IEEE CPMT and IMAPS and a member of AIChE and IEEE.
