One of the objectives of this course is to
introduce you to the various sources of karst data, resources, and expertise
that are available to solve most potential problems you may face if you work in
this discipline. Your texts provide
initial lists. I will help you start
building your own information bank of reference sources and contacts, but I
also would like you to become acquainted with these on your own. Please provide the following information to
me:
1. Refer to the report of the Hales Bar Dam [either
from my digital dropbox email to you, or on my
website under Karst Hydrogeology (http://comp.uark.edu/~brahana)]. Apply these observations to the geology of
the Three Gorges Dam in
2. Provide a complete listing of 5 organizations
that collect karst data. Give me name,
address, phone number, and the type of data and ground-water research in which
they're interested.
3. Identify the following researchers with

4. Briefly summarize karst for the following
