Bed bug, Cimex lectularius L.

     Cimex lectularius L. (Heteroptera: Cimicidae) is a hematophagous parasite of humans and has regained worldwide attention due to its recent resurgence.  Research is currently being conducted on bed bug population genetics, use of bed bugs for forensics, and bed bug insecticide resistance.
