University Student Outreach (USO) is a non-denominational organization whose purpose is to reach out the world and show the love of Christ. We believe that Jesus is the Messiah, that He died and rose again, and that He is the only source of Salvation. We believe that salvation is a gift of God, neither started nor sustained by works. We also believe that any person who has personally placed their faith in Christ's death and resurrection is a child of God (John 1:14) and can be certain that they will spend eternity in Heaven. We will be happy to answer any questions about our doctrine that you may have, and you can feel free to call the number listed at any time.

Our vision and purpose is to reach out to the entire world and fulfill the Great Commission (as stated in Matthew 28:19-20) in our lifetime. The only way to achieve this goal is to serve and work with other religious organizations who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that an important part of this process is discipleship, a process wherein a person shares his life with another and both learn from one another about the Lord. We also feel that each person has the opportunity and responsibility to be directly involved in ministry in such a fashion.

University Student Outreach is affiliated with Great Commission Ministries (GCM) , an international university ministry organization.

This is what you can plan into your schedule:

Every Sunday at 10:30 AM we meet in Kimple Hall (room 105)to worship and learn more about our Lord. We start early so bring a coffee mug and enjoy a cup 'o joe to get your eyes open and relax as we lift our hearts and voices to the Father

Women's Accountability Group:
every Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Julie Mecke's house.

Men's Accountability Group:
every Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at either Bill Dove's or Brandon Skinner / Charles Olson's house.

GCM Leadership Training:
Once again USO will be attending LT in Myrtle Beach SC. "Myrtle Beach offers the dynamic large group session, with powerful teachings and passionate worship, that have made LT summers a turning point for so many believers."

Our Head Elder, Mike Mecke, graduated from Florida Bible college in 1985, receiving a B.A. in Theology and Psychology. He has been in the ministry since 1979 and served as a church elder in Harrison, Arkansas.

USO began as a group of five students who began meeting together for fellowship and discipleship in the fall/winter of 1992 at the University of Arkansas. It became a registered student organization on the UofA campus in January of 1993.

Aaron Smith has just recently been made an deacon in our group. According to the recommendations for an deacon found in I Timothy 3. Aaron is a man of God and we are happy to see him grow in the spirit and lead the children of Christ.

1Timothy 3:1

1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:

15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

-THE VERSE -
Revelation 21:6 "The One on the throne said to me, 'It is finished. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give free water from the spring of life to anyone who is thirsty.'"

-THE BREAD -

As children bring their broken toys with tears for us to mend. I brought my broken dreams to GOD, because He was my Friend. But then instead of leaving Him in Peace to work alone, I hung around and tried to help with ways that were my own. At last I snatched them back and cried, "How can You be so slow"? "My child," He said, "What could I do? You never did let go." Lauretta P. Burns Denver, Colorado says "My poem 'Broken Dreams' has been published by H&L Enterprises as a Poster, by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer in his book Your Sacred Self by the teaching division of the Southern Baptist Association."

-COMMENTS-
God tells us many times throughout Revelation and also in many other parts of the Bible that He is the Beginning and the End, the Author and Perfector of our faith. In order to see His true goodness, we must let Him be all that He wants to be for us. We must let Him have complete control over our lives and work in them in a way that we have never seen before. In order for that to happen, when we give something up to God, we must give Him all of it. Not just part of it, and not even 99%. He must have 100%. Many times I'e given something to Him completely and seen how marvelous it is when He works His way in my life. I then wonder why all the rest of the times, I can't trust Him on what He has done in the past to do the same in the future. After all, He is the Beginning and the End and His mercy never fails. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
