I
am Associate Professor
of Philosophy and Chair of the Philosophy Department at
the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
I am originally from Portland, Oregon. My bachelor's degree is in
philosophy
from the University of Oregon in
the
beautiful (if somewhat dreary) city of Eugene. A year after
finishing
at Oregon, my wife and I packed up our stuff and moved to Syracuse, New
York
where I was in the Ph.D. program in philosophy at Syracuse University. Though
the philosophy at Syracuse was first rate, the winters were too darned
cold
so we loaded up again and headed for Tucson where I earned my MA
and
Ph.D. in philosophy from the University
of Arizona. With the exception of one year in Washington,
D.C.,we've
been in Fayettteville ever since.
My areas of research are epistemology, metaphysics, and the
philosophy of religion. I'm in the midst of writing a book on the
epistemology of religious belief.
