Top Ten Facts about the U of A Libraries
10. We are the largest library in the state, with more than 1.7 million volumes and 18,000+ periodical subscriptions (journals, magazines,and newspapers).

9. Mullins is the MAIN library on campus; it has four floors, including one below ground level. Mullins has reading/study rooms, such as the Helen R. Walton Reading Room on Lobby Level and group study rooms on Level Three. Stop at the West circulation desk for a study room key (groups of two to six students, please).

8. Other libraries on campus include the Fine Arts, Chemistry (under renovation), Law and Physics libraries.

7. InfoLinks is the online catalog for the University Libraries. InfoLinks can be searched by keyword, author, title and subject. Using InfoLinks, you can find out if a particular book in the libraries is checked out, if we have electronic copies of a periodical, or if an issue of a magazine has been received. You may also use InfoLinks to renew items you have checked out.

6. You can use the EbscoHOST Academic Search Premier or ProQuest Direct and several dozen other indexes to find references for articles in journals and magazines, and some articles in electronic full-text.

5. Many library databases are available through the Web, from anywhere there is Internet access. Login with your name and ID number.

4. Some of our special collections include government documents, manuscripts and rare books, Arkansas and University history, and audio and video recordings.

3. Your University I.D. is your library card. Most books check out for sixteen weeks at a time. Call the Circulation Desk to renew materials over the telephone (575-4104), or renew your materials yourself, through InfoLinks, with your PIN number.

2. Many of your instructors place class notes, readings, and old tests on Reserve. Reserve materials are held at the Circulation Desk; some materials will be on electronic Reserve. You can see what your instructor has on Reserve by using InfoLinks. Laptops can be checked out from the Circ. desk.

1. Mullins Library has 2.8 miles of shelves! Everyone needs help getting started. Ask at the Reference Desk (librarians are available most of the time that the library is open) click into chat, or call 575-6645.
