Go to the Special Collections homepage.

The Special Collections Division, located on Level One of Mullins Library, provides access to manuscript collections, Arkansas and regional publications, rare books, maps, photographs, and U of A materials. These resources are available for use by:

Manuscript collections include letters, diaries, photographs and other materials created or collected by political leaders, authors, journalists, architects, composers, educators, environmentalists, folklorists, university students and faculty, civic and professional groups, human rights groups, and more.

Materials held in Special Collections are often delicate, rare, or both, and must be handled carefully to preserve them for current and future use. The materials do not circulate (check out). There may be duplicate copies, especially of theses and dissertations, in the circulating collections of Mullins or other campus libraries.

To identify materials in the division, consult both InfoLinks and the closed card catalogs (for materials not yet entered in the online catalog). Location codes for materials in Special Collections are ARK COLL, SPEC COLL, A, AA, T, D, MS, and MC.
