Where to go for
help in Mullins Library:

If you need general
information about the library (where the bathrooms are, where the microfilm is
kept, and so on) stop first at the Reference Desk, near the west doors on the
entrance level. For other questions, try:
The Reference Desk
The Reference Desk
is the main place to ask for help with your research. We can help you find materials,
narrow a topic, complete a citation, use style manuals,
and so on. The Reference collection has encyclopedias, dictionaries and other
resources. Email refer@uark.edu, call 479-575-6645, or use the new chat reference
service; you may also text short questions to 479-595-9296.
The Periodicals Desk
The Periodicals desk
in the Periodicals Room, is the place to ask for help with microfilm and microfiche,
and for current issues of some journals and magazines. Try to have a printout
with the call number available, when you want a particular journal. This will
allow them to help you more quickly.
Government Documents
For help with Government
documents, ask at the Reference Desk.
Performing Arts and Media
(recordings, videos, etc.)
If you are using materials
in the Performing Arts and Medial Department, ask at the service desk in the department
on Level 1, or ask at the Reference Desk. To find these materials,
including audio
and video tapes, use InfoLinks.
InterLibrary Loan
The Interlibrary Loan
Department is on Level 2. Requests for interlibrary loan may be made at the ILL
department office, or submitted electronically; borrowed materials may be picked
by at the Circulation Desk, or electronically, after you have been notified.
If you wish to work
with Arkansas materials or other materials in Special Collections, there are librarians
there to help you.
Fine Arts and other branch
or departmental libraries
If you are working
in the Fine Arts Library, or departmental libraries
such as the Physics or Chemistry and Biochemistry Library you can ask for
help at their service desks, or
if no one is available there, you may call the Reference Desk at 575-6645, or
e-mail us at refer@uark.edu with your questions.
