What are microfilm and microfiche? where are they? (Mullins Library)
decorative line

Microfilm and microfiche are publishing formats. They allow us to keep newspapers and other bulky publications in a compact, stable form. The publisher photographs the pages of a work (usually newspapers, magazines or journals) in miniature, and places them on card-shaped photographic material (microfiche) or strips of film on reels(microfilm).

Most of the microfilm and microfiche in the library is kept on Lobby Level or Level Two, in the Periodicals Room. There are some items on microfiche in Government Documents. To read it, use a microfiche or microfilm reader. To copy pages, use a reader-printer and card in the same area of the Periodicals Room.
If you need help with microfilm or microfiche, ask at the service desk or at the Reference Desk.
