Finding Full-text
Journal or Magazine Articles
We own many journals and magazines in electronic full-text. Several companies sell us aggregate databases which include electronic copies of articles, such as: ProQuest Direct (4000+ titles, about half full-text), Ebscohost Academic Search Premier (more than 7,000 titles, about half full-text), Lexis Nexis Academic Universe (5,000 titles, full-text but no images),and others. We also subscribe to a number of electronic reference sources, such as: Biography Resource Center or Encyclopaedia Britannica.
We pay the database
providers for these full-text journals and resources, including copyright fees
for fair use. Please
use them accordingly. Remember to cite the sources that you use in your projects.
We own many journals and other resources above and beyond these titles, so if you are not finding what you need, don't give up. The majority of the journals that we own are still on the shelves, or in microform; not all journals, magazines or newspapers indexed in these databases are available in electronic full-text; and not all articles in all issues of the publications which the databases do index are available. Also, there will commonly only be full-text articles available since the early 1990's, so if you are looking for materials that are older than that, the chances are that they are on the shelves rather than online.
