Get involved with the music cognition lab
There are several ways to participate in our research.
Take a class or get a degree
The University of Arkansas offers undergraduate and graduate courses in
music cognition, ranging from
Introduction to Music Cognition to
Music
and Language
to thesis research and special projects. The University of Arkansas
also offers the BM and MM degrees in music theory, which can be done
with an emphasis on music cognition.
Participate in an experiment
We are always enrolling new
participants in our studies. Participation ordinarily involves
listening to music and making responses. For most studies, no musical
training is required. Experiments are held at the Music Cognition Lab
in the Music Building (labeled MUSC on the
campus map).
Work in the lab
The lab provides many opportunities for students to get involved in ongoing research projects, and to develop their own.
Attend an event
The music cognition lab hosts special events, including guest lectures
and demonstrations.
